SWMP
Under the Site Waste Management Plans Regulations 2008, from 6th April 2008 every construction project in England & Wales valued over £300,000 must provide a site waste management plan.
The SWMP is a structured plan that is developed into a document prior to the start of construction. Each waste type expected to be produced on the project should be identified. Estimates of the quantity of each type being produced must be provided. An action plan must be put forward for each waste stream, outlining planned disposal routes with particular emphasis on recycling.
